I often get emails of people asking me advice of the best place to go in Paris for shopping, eating and sight seeing. For a long time I wanted to compile addresses and photos but I never really got round to it. So when I discovered over the weekend the City guides of Tommy's blog Notes by Naive I was so excited. She has a very good selection and lovely retro photos of some of the best places to go in Paris, London, New York, San Francisco, Portland, Singapore and more! This adventurous girl is from Singapore and now based in London. Well done to you and thank you for sharing all your secrets places!
Since the new maps arrived on our website last Friday night it's been very very busy. Our best ever selling weekend! I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for such a nice response. That's why I love designing products and having our little business. We get direct feedbacks from you all and it feels good. x
The 2 cities closest to my heart are now available as prints based on an original Famille Summerbelle paper cut design (see work in progress of Paris map & London map). As per yesterday they are on sale on our website.
Thank you all so much for your lovely comments while I was still designing and cutting the maps. It has been quite a long process but still very enjoyable especially when I got such a nice support! Paris comes in bright pink and the London map in bright turquoise. Both maps are A2 format (42x59.4cm) and are printed on high quality 270gsm embossed paper. (Delivered unframed).
We bought Ophelia a cardboard house by Nume when she was around 2. We wanted a little house that was stylish and simple enough to sit in a corner of our living room. We loved the fact that 1.you can fold it when it's not in use, 2. you can customize it and 3. it's white:) 4. it's very easy to build 5. it's recyclable.
These are the other cardboard toys on my list for her future birthdays...
1. Dolls house with 5 rooms and lovely retro furniture by Green Lullaby.
2. Class room with lots of small accessories by Petit Colin.
3. Children's farandole to decorate your room by Zoe de las Cases.
4. Tree by Kidsonroof
5. Cardboard house by Kidsonroof.
All of the above products are available at Madame la Marchande.
6. Cardboard House by Nume.
7. Washing machine by Nume.
8. Archi Maison by Carton chic.
9. Office desk and bench by Green Lullaby.
10. Foldable screen by Corraini.
All of the above products are available on Little Circus (apart from the desk and bench available at Madame la Marchande).
It is difficult to make a selection of my favorite designers as there were so many good things around at last week trade show in London. Sukie is now a well known UK label with great designs that range from travel books, cushions, calendars. You can buy their products in Paperchase and on their website.
Claire has a background in textile design and she creates some beautiful cards, calendars, bags and trays. Her products are available on her website at Cloud Cuckoo designs and also you can get her cards in Habitat.
We had a wonderful and sunny week in London.
Pulse trade show was a success so a big thank you to all the boutique shops for your interest in Famille Summerbelle and for placing orders!
Now we're back in Paris and I will be catching up with the blogging world. I've been so busy lately that I hardly had time to post on FS blog.
So before doing my top 5 designers showcasing at Pulse, here are some images of the talented Abigail Brown. The UK based artist creates fabulous creatures made in fabrics and lots more lovely things. Thanks to Emma Cassi and Madame Chacha for the link.
