If you want to read how busy and exciting my days are at the moment (joke :) then check Rohini's fabulous blog The Beat That My Heart Skipped. You can also follow the days of other designers like Deborah Bowness, Priscilla Carluccio from Few and Far, Minimodern, Bodie and Fou and many more...
Thanks Rohini!Check also her website, she's a talented interior Stylist and Writer...
Browsing at her fab blog I discovered that the legendary London Restaurant and Champagne bar Ketner's has been revamped by Studio Ilse. I am a huge fan of Isle Crawford interiors (Soho House London & NYC, Shoreditch House, Cowshed...), it's always stylish with a homely atmosphere. Next time i'm in town and child free I'm def going to have some champagne there...soon I hope...
Simon came back last week with a copy of the February issue of Marie Claire UK. What a treat to have 4 pages on Famille Summerbelle! Thank you so much to stylist Sian Williams and photographer Bridget Pierson who came to visit us few months back and also a big thank you to the Marie Claire team in London! So this is our home near Paris...
Cute little diary seen on a Korean website Babosarang. I bought similar diaries when we were in Japan last year. I just love the little characters, the colours and all the little details: stickers, note tags...
Dolls by Marilyn Neuhart. Originally designed in 1959, these dolls were popular items at Girard's Textile & Objects Shop in Manhattan during the 60's. Hand sewn by the artist herself, each doll is unique and sold exclusively by MaXimo.
Thanks to everyone who helped, inspired or encouraged us.
In particular, on behalf of our small (but growing!) family business we'd like to thank:
All the wonderful bloggers/writers/designers who share our passion.
All the journalists who have encouraged us by sharing or recommending our creations.
All the shops and small businesses who sell our products.
And of course, all those people who bought something for themselves, their friends or family.
As a family, on the whole, we loved 2009. We lost a few, had a little more bad news (like everyone) but mostly we're left smiling with some incredible souvenirs:
We moved to France.
We launched lots of new products for Famille Summerbelle - most notably the maps of London, Paris and New York.
Ophelia started school. French and English (her French is probably better than mine - depressingly)
Julie gave birth to our beautiful little boy Lucien. Officially the easiest baby in the world.
And I quit our last vestige of security. My job.
So here's to 2010. We're happy, excited and just a little scared. Perfectly ready I'd say.
Happy New Year, and thanks again!
The full Famille Summerbelle (Simon, Julie, Ophelia and all 57cm of Lucien).
