Mix tiles

First thank you so much for your lovely comments on the new colours for the Paris and London maps. I get lots of emails asking when they will be available on Famille Summerbelle's shop so to answer your questions, we're planning to have them ready for after the Summer holidays, around mid- September. We will of course announce it on the blog.

This is a small selection of tile patterns that I am very fond of. I would love my next kitchen to have a floor covered with a mix of colours in concrete tiles. These 2 top images are from Chiswick High road House in London (part of the prestigious Soho House chain), decorated by Isle Crawford.
The fabric designs below are from textile designer Karen Barbé (found on Bloesem). I think they are so beautiful.

Well, us really. We've had some fantastic comments and feedback, and it makes you realise the value of a bit of sharing.
Choosing colours (while vitally important) is not normally that much fun. Yeah Julie does like the Pantone book as the last post shows, but it's difficult to know if you're making a popular decision.

The colours you chose were RED for London and GREEN for Paris:

It couldn't have been tighter between the Sage Green and Night Blue for Paris, so sorry if you voted for blue and hope you don't hate the green!

Burst of Colours

I received this morning the Pantone formula guides. I am so happy to have my own now! It's such a precious tool for choosing the right colour when you go to the printer.
Thank you all so much for your lovely comments and for your help in choosing the next colours for the maps of Paris and London.
London in Red is def the favorite: red buses, telephone boxes, red guards etc...
It's a bit more difficult to choose between the sage green and the dark night blue for the Paris map...let's wait until tonight, the end of the survey.

Help us choose some colours!

We've had a phenomenal response to our new map prints. We really appreciate all of the lovely comments and of course thanks so much to all of you who have purchased!

We've had so many requests to create more colours and we'd be stupid to ignore the advice of all our friends and readers, so that's exactly what we're going to do.

However, for a bit of fun, to be a little more inclusive and of course to make use of the incredible talent surrounding us, we've decided to let everyone vote for the final choices (see right!).

Julie has already picked a few colours (we thought it might benefit a bit of control!).

Also we thought we'd offer a prize for helping, so after voting, just leave us a nice little comment under this post and we'll send a nice gift to the most inspiring comment - totally arbitrary I know but can't think of anything better!

Examples of each of the colours are here below (and voting is top right of the blog if you haven't already noticed). Deadline is end of Thursday 23rd July.
