London calling

I'm off to London... yeehaaaa!!I can't believe it's been 8 months since my last visit! I miss it a lot...my friends & family of course, walks in Hampstead park and along the South Bank, the Tate, reading the weekend newspapers in a nice gastro pub, Columbia rd flower market on Sundays, Borough market and the nice coffees from Monmouth, lunch sandwiches from Pret, cappuccinos (I'm sorry but Parisian cafés can't do nice cappuccinos!) and the list can go on...Talking of list This is Naive blog has done an amazing long list of places to see in the big City. Areas, restaurants and shops in London that's worth checking. There are always new places to discover. That's what I'm looking for...

Thank you so much for all your comments on the NYC video. It's very nice to get some feedbacks! Sorry for not posting much over the past couple of weeks. I have been busy working on a new paper cut. I hope to make another video to share it with you.
It's the school holidays here for Ophelia so we have been doing things together in the house as it's been raining all week. Poor little boy is has not been very happy, he is teething at the moment (any tips?!).

New York

This is something we should have posted a long time ago.

This film we shot towards the end of last year and shows Julie intricately cutting the latest of our maps of New York. It is around 20 hours of paper cutting which has been sped up to around 2 minutes.

Letterpress printing

There are some really good letterpress printing places in the States. I like the tradition they have in the US and UK of sending cards for all occasions (I have to say I love receiving them but I am quite bad at sending them...).I love the embossed printing on thick paper and fine inks. Studio on Fire do some great prints. I like the promo card that turns into a little camp fire set and the Mix Tapes Wedding System!

Made by grandma

At Golden Hook you can design your hat and scarf from Angora, Alpaca or cashmere colourful wools and the best for the end...you choose a grandma who is going to knit it for you! The company was launched by Parisian student Jeremy Emsellem who started out knitting hats for himself and for friends but eventually he could no longer meet the growing demand and began to look elsewhere, which is when the grandmothers come in.
