Marika Giacinti is launching her eponymous pillow label from Paris. They are manufactured in a traditional French home linen factory. Each pillow is beautifully crafted with pompom, fringe and screen printed patterns. Her online shop will open around September/October time.
Dutch designer Bauke Knottnerus used giant knitting needles to design the oversized Phat Knits rugs and furniture. I also love his trompe l'oeilcurtain.
My 6 year old niece Apolline wrote this lovely letter 'for all the fathers in the World'. Her father is my brother who is visiting us at moment. He lives in San Francisco with his family. Apolline who's French was not speaking a word of English when they moved there 2 years ago so I'm so impressed with her.
to see my designs featured in such a beautiful room. This is the bedroom of Ivy, the daughter of Courtney from Babyccino. I love the white room with all the added touches of colours. Now I want to paint our floor board!
It's been a ritual in Paris over the past 20 years or so, thousands of people all dressed in their best white outfit arrive at the same time to have a posh picnic in a prestigious Parisian location.
You only get invited by friends and the location remains a secret until the last minute (you get told once you are on the coach on the way). This year we were a total of 12000 people: 6000 in the Cour Carrée du Louvre (where we were) and 6000 in front of Notre Dame.
Live band music...
Champagne, foie gras, fresh fruits...all you need for a posh picnic.
My sister was dressed as an Angel. My mum made a fairy light hat!
The Louvre beautifully lit for the evening.
The diner ends with thousands of sparklers. It was very magical.
If you live on the other side of the Atlantic, be ready it's coming to NYC and Montreal soon.
I wanted to get this little rabbit from Miko Design for a long time and now I've done it. I bought it this morning for Ophelia's 5th birthday in a few weeks time. I look forward to make it with her over the Summer and I think it will go nicely alongside Apoline à Paris Rabbit that is hanging in the children bedroom.
I'm loving the beautiful collection of products in Tas-Ka webshop: vintage and new books, a fantastic choice of cushions and fabrics, cute toys, lampshades, chairs and coat hangers....well I could go on for hours...
While looking at the beautiful Australian Adore online Magazine, I was blown away by the colourful paintings by Miranda Skoczek. I think I'm going to use her colour palette (bright pink, red, yellow, grey and turquoise) to redecorate our living room (I love the massive side board cabinet and cushions in this living room).
currently on my wall. I love the colours and textures.
What's your favorite colour at the moment?
Featured not in order: Mimi Lou paper lamps, Ferm Living cushions and wallpaper, Purl Soho, origami paper, Kissing Birds wallpaper from Famille Summerbelle...
I'll be leaving Paris tomorrow morning for London (not on my bike but by car). Simon and I will be there for about 4 days as we're exhibiting at Pulse from Sunday until Tuesday. I'll show you pictures on my return with a selection of my favorite designer / product from the show.
I'm making several paper garlands to decorate our stand at Pulse show in London next weekend. Come over to see our new products if you're around (sorry it's only for trade and press).
I'll give one away after the show so check the blog!
